FWS News Flash: MY BOOK IS BEING PUBLISHED!

Dreams...we all have them, and some are realistic and others are not. Two of the oldest dreams for myself were to be a published sci-fi author and going into space. While, I'm never going to be the first man on Mars, I am being published! That is right, dear readers of FWS! Endangered Species, my own take on powered-armored humans vs. insect aliens is being published by Forker Media! Nearly a year ago, Forker Media approached me about reviewing their military sci-fi/zombie apocalypse novel The FIVE, and during the recent interview with authors H.A.L. Wagner and Forrest Parham, they mentioned that their publisher was searching for another armored power suit novel. I submitted Endangered Species, and within a few days, I was extended an offer to publish. I am beyond thrilled, and so far, the experience at Forker Media has been overwhelmingly positive. As an author, it is so nice and gratifyingly that someone likes your work and wants to spend the time and money to publish right.
So, when can you read my military sci-fi novel and where? My publisher tells me about four to six months, and where is Amazon and Barnes & Noble online. Physical dead tree copies and ebooks will be both available. I believe I will signing the physical copies....Derek Restivo will be blessing my novel with his art on the cover, and two other talented artists will be crafting several interior art pieces as well. Myself along with other Forker Media authors will be attending events, which I will post here on FWS. So you can come and meet me! Will me being published alter the future of FWS? No, and nor will be using the blog solely to pimp my novel. Yes, from time-to-time, I will putting up blogposts about my novel, but, the business of FWS will continue: exploring and explaining military science fiction. Do not let this stop from buying copies of my book for your own enjoyment and the enjoyment of everyone you know or have ever known. Let us all make Endangered Species a success! If anyone wants to promote or read my novel for a review, let me know!

  4. Congrats, will by as soon as I get a kindle or something. Book sounds interesting. Just since in every game that has mech / vehicular combat combined with infantry game play I'm gonna ask... What is the infantry gear & stuff in your universe & will there be infantry fighting bugs or whatever.

  5. Thanks everyone for the kind words! I will keep everyone informed on the timeline of the novel!
There is infantry...to a point. Most of the story centers around the MCAG ODA-229 unit that is not working with an specialized infantry units, which is rare, in normal operations. In the 2nd and 3rd books, we will is more combined arms approach. The powered armor special forces drivers in the book are from infantry units, so they that training and tradition, and they also carry small arms in case they are forced to abandon the suit. IN 229, Jorja carries an compact caseless carbine that she carried in the 2nd Sirius War. However, most of the drivers in 229, carry the newly developed PDW that Jorja wasn't impressed with. The infantry vs. bugs will be seen in the sequel to "Endanger Species", "Pillar of Fire". In that mission, the infantry wears the standard exoskeleton hardware and caseless 6mm weaponry. I am still working on the tactical gear and a 3-D printer type technology for the ammunition drop system. I work hard to include both futuristic and practical elements. If more of 22 novels, most of them in individual universes, we will see more takes on far future infantry, including a story set in the 32nd century.
