FWS News Feed: Star Wars: Rogue One Trailer!

It this finally the Star Wars war film we've been promised? For years, fans of the Star Wars universe and military science fiction have wanted a more focused future war film involving the conflict between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire. Well, it seems we may be getting just that from the teaser trailer for SW: Rogue One that dropped today on ABC's GMA...yes, I watched it on GMA and I was floored by what was presented. This is the film I've been waiting years for in the SW universe that does not contain the tried storyline of the Sith vs. the Jedi. From the look ad tone of Rogue One, these new SW films will continue to erode the plastic-fanatic Prequels. It is too early to examine the trailer for main story point and besides the geek community is already doing that, but I think we could have something special coming our way on December 16th, 2016.

  1. It is however posessed of violence not seen in original starwars. We didnt see jawas massacred and lukes relatives murdered. Rogue One is not respecting the restraint of the original material.

  4. Of course, what we have to remember here is that this alternative history is told by the apparent victors.

In reality, the empire was trying to end this destructive conflict; the reported use of the ultimate weapon in the Alderaan system was propagated by rebel insurgents on board the Death Star (their term of course). Imperial peacekeepers (whose armor is white) are being massacred in droves by these rebel 'scum'.

What the rebels, and their former hippi jedi masters really want, is to block the right to follow whatever aspect of the force individual freedom allows - so that their irresponsible form of government can retuen. That's the real travesty here.

Now the first order? They're the real bad guys - and were created by the power vacuum left by the demise of the empire - when the rebellion (insurgency) succeeded.

    ;)
